Company: A Different Kind of Green Design

ZeroEnergy Design (ZED) is a professional services firm providing Custom Home Design and Energy Design services for residential new construction. ZED's unique collaboration between architectural designers, mechanical engineers, and financial analysts drives a competitive advantage and enables the firm to deliver fully integrated design for high performance homes.

Founders

David Wax, CEO
David Wax worked for 6 years as a Senior Consultant in the Energy Practice at Deloitte Consulting. His business perspective is the backbone of ZED's financial analysis. Dave's ability to communicate the importance and complexities of a sound financial investment resonates well with clients. He received his MBA at the Johnson School at Cornell University where he was awarded the Dean's Award for his entrepreneurial achievements.

Emile Chin-Dickey, LEED-AP, Project Manager
Emile Chin-Dickey manages projects and marketing initiatives for the firm. Previously, he worked as a Consultant at Kaiser Associates in its corporate strategy practice. There, his experience covered a wide range of subject areas, including marketing and product development, and spanned several industries, from automotive to news media to consumer products. He holds a Bachelor of Arts in Economics from Cornell University.

Stephanie Horowitz, Design Principal
Stephanie Horowitz graduated from the Cornell University School of Architecture, currently the number one program in the nation. Stephanie has served as a Designer at NBBJ, as well as a Sustainability Consultant to numerous other architectural firms. As a sought-after expert in sustainability, Stephanie has been involved with a multitude of green buildings, including many that are LEED certified.

Benjamin Uyeda, Design Principal
Benjamin Uyeda graduated from the Cornell University School of Architecture. After receiving his Bachelor and Master of Architecture, Ben earned a position on the Architecture Faculty at Cornell. He has a wealth of knowledge of green building materials, 3D modeling and visualization. As a visiting lecturer, Ben developed an original curriculum to teach the principles of sustainable design.

Jordan Goldman, Chief Engineer
Jordan Goldman is an expert in indoor air quality, autonomous energy systems, and airflow simulation. He has been recognized by the EPA for his achievement in systems design for green buildings. Jordan studied Environmental and Biological Engineering at Cornell University, where he received both a Bachelor of Science and Master of Engineering.
